The first Young Wealth Sharers cohort launched in Barbados, West Indies, in 2022.

A Barbadian with a Mission to Give Back

Born in Lascelles Terrace, Pinelands, St. Michael, Barbados, Mrs. Terry Black attended Wilkie Cumberbatch Primary School until the age of six, when she migrated with her family to New York. By that time, Terry’s academic foundation was already three grades ahead—an early reflection of the strength of Barbados’ education system.

Although she grew up abroad, Barbados always remained home at heart. From the ages of nine to sixteen, Terry spent her summers on the island, deepening a lifelong connection to her roots and cultural identity.

A passion for improving the lives of others—combined with a transformative trip to a boarding school in Fiji—inspired the creation of Young Wealth Sharers, a mission-driven initiative dedicated to giving youth resources not openly available in their communities.. Young Wealth Sharers exists to close gaps in economic opportunity and emotional strength, empowering young people to thrive holistically.

Over the years, Terry became a successful entrepreneur and realized that many individuals are not held back by a lack of potential, but by limited access to information, guidance, and positive examples of financial abundance.

While opportunities exist, many individuals—especially youth—do not know where to start or how to access them. Terry is determined to bridge that gap by showing young people that success can be built in any environment through hard work, discipline, and belief in oneself.

Young Wealth Sharers is designed to transform mindsets, set youth apart, and empower them to become leaders within their communities. Through mindset development, character building, and teachings rooted in generosity and purpose, participants are encouraged to become positive influencers in their social circles and future stewards of wealth—not only financially, but mentally and morally as well.
